Season 5
Mmane announces to the Skwizas that she is retiring and closing down the agency by the end of the year. This ignites a panic amongst Tiny, Twiggy, Softy and Makhambule. What will become of them since they derive their livelihoods and identity from the agency?
Mmane says the only way to prevent the agency closing down is if one of them steps up and takes over the management. So all the Skwizas set out to prove to her that one of them is the most qualified to succeed her.
Samson presumes because he is Mmane's only son, he automatically qualifies to inherit the agency. Mmane says "no" - he has to prove himself like all the others. This sparks off an entitlement war between Tiny and Samson.
The skwizas also erroneously presume that whoever is the most popular (i.e. with the most number of followers on social media) should become Mmane's successor because it implies they can market the agency better and attract more work.
This triggers a popularity contest which plays out on social media, where the ladies attempt to out do each other in attracting followers by posting pictures and videos of them doing the most outrageous and unimaginable things with hilarious consequences.
The ladies become troubled when Makhambule seems to be constantly ahead of the pack, with the most number of followers no matter what they do.
It turns out Makhambule has been cat fishing by posting nude pictures of her supposed self; she is reported to Mmane for cheating and is called out to be disqualified but it is later revealed, much to the shock of the others, that the saucy photos were indeed of her in her yesteryear.
Meanwhile, Bella is upset with Samson as they have not had a honeymoon since they got married last season. Samson cites his battle to resuscitate his business as the main cause. A fancy way of saying he has no money.
He moans to Morena that because of his inability to afford a honeymoon, his marriage is already off to a rocky start. Morena gets a brainwave: to treat Bella and Samson to a "Homemade Honeymoon".
For a fraction of the price, he will stage for their benefit, in Mmane's house, his favourite honeymoon destinations in South Africa. The idea is cute at first till Morena's idea of honeymoon destinations proves too hectic for the couple.
