The fourth season of the reality show The Bachelor premieres with new bachelor Bob Guiney next in line to face 25 demanding women.
Fans of the genre will recognise 'Bachelor Bob' as a contestant on the first season of The Bachelorette. Although he was denied the affections of bachelorette Trista Rehn, she still invited him to her wedding to winner Ryan Sutter.
Producers of The Bachelor decided he had the winning personality they required, so offered him the chance to star in his own season of the show.
He also featured on the Rob Cesternino-produced "reality show for reality stars" Kill Reality in 2005, which documented a bunch of reality stars making a made-for-TV horror movie called The Scorned, which was released on the E! Entertainment network in the same year.
Bob will be introduced to 25 hopeful ladies and he will narrow the group down to 15, then 10, six, four, three, two and finally to one (hopefully) lucky woman.
The women in this season of The Bachelor come from a variety of backgrounds and professions, including a school teacher from Tennessee, a professional dancer from California, a pharmaceutical saleswoman from South Carolina and a lawyer from Florida.
Host Chris Harrison surprises the ladies continuously, when on one group date he performs a rose ceremony at the end and one heartbroken lady is not even allowed to return to the Villa.
When the rivalry intensifies the women have to vote for the most and least deserving person among themselves to go on a one-on-one date with Bob.
Another twist is added to this season when Bob's best mate Jamie Blyth - a fellow loser on The Bachelorette - makes an appearance and moves into the villa with the ladies.
The Bachelor provides a glimpse into the lives of every participant involved in the process. Bob will journey to exotic locations and the homes of four of the women, where he will meet their respective families and take the final two to his home.
At the final rose ceremony will Bob propose and will the lucky lady accept?
