This docu-reality series offers insight into the world of active citizenship and volunteerism by profiling real South Africans' extraordinary contributions to change people's lives for the better across the country.
Hosted by the Play Your Part ambassador Kabelo Mabalane, the series engages ordinary South Africans, empowering viewers by giving them the opportunity to see how others are making a difference in their communities.
The series is a nationwide programme created to inspire, empower and celebrate active citizenship in South Africa. The broadcast of the Play Your Part series is as a result of the continued partnership between the SABC and Brand South Africa.
Episode highlights include The Awethu Project, an organisation that helps aspiring entrepreneurs with the much needed funding to start up their business; and Zareef Minty, who plays his part by providing motivational speaking to less privileged entrepreneurs, as well as mentorship to students.
Also featured is Mogau Mosebjadi – The Lazy Makoti - playing her part through her company, employing rural and township women to host cooking classes in local food and selling handcrafted, locally produced kitchen accessories.
