Season 2

Season 2 Winner: Cait McWilliams

Bake Off is back and this time, the search goes nationwide in a bid to find and crown South Africa's best amateur baker.

The tent is up, the ovens preheated and 12 of the country's best amateur bakers are ready to showcase their baking skills through a series of challenging tasks.

Season 2 features a new co-presenter replacing Donovan Goliath, Chef Lentswe Bhengu, who joins Anne Hirsch and judges Shirley Guy and Tjaart Walraven in the Bake Off tent.

As Season 2 gets underway, the bakers enter the pressurised environment of the Bake Off tent for the very first time and go whisk-to-whisk in their quest to be crowned South Africa's Best Amateur Baker.

Judged by Shirley Guy and Tjaart Walraven, Episode 1 is all about cakes – starting with a Signature Bake challenge to create the perfect Glazed Madeira Loaf Cake, followed by a Technical Bake challenge to make Bee Sting Cake.

Finally, the pressure is on and the clock is ticking for the Showstopper Challenge to create a Black Forest Gateau. Who will be crowned Star Baker and who will be eliminated from The Great South African Bake Off tent?

After eight weeks of whisking, crimping and piping, only one can emerge victorious.

There'll be tears, there'll be tension, and there may even be a soggy bottom or two.

On your marks... get set... bake!
