Season 2
This season, astronaut Molly Woods (Halle Berry) discovers she has unwittingly put the human race on a path to destruction, and that she and mysterious stranger JD Richter (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) may be the only hope for survival.
Richter is a roguish womanizer and a cop of the future who is a mercenary/bounty hunter. He is free-wheeling, hard-drinking and fearless, bordering on reckless, mostly because he's got nothing to lose.
He is the everyman who thought he had seen everything until Molly enters his life.
In the first episode of Season 2: six months after her life unraveled and dark secrets were revealed, Molly is confined to a psychiatric hospital when she learns of bizarre deaths that sound eerily similar to those she witnessed in space.
When she escapes to investigate, she crosses paths with JD Richter, a determined cop who just signed on to the case.
Extant is a co-production of CBS Television Studios and Amblin Television. Steven Spielberg, Greg Walker, Mickey Fisher, who wrote the script, Brooklyn Weaver, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank serve as executive producers. Halle Berry serves as co-executive producer.
