Season 1
The People's Celebration Concert was held in Johannesburg (27 April, Johannesburg Stadium), Durban (29 April, ABSA Stadium) and Cape Town (1 May, Green Point Stadium) in 2006.
The TV special was aired on SABC 1 on Saturday 27 May, at 22h00.
Synopsis
Billed as "the biggest ever hip-hop celebration in Africa", the concert was held to celebrate Premier Foods becoming the largest 100 percent black-owned company in South Africa.
The concert had a mix of top international acts mixed with top South African acts, and was themed under the slogan "Izandla Ziya Gezana" ("Hands Wash Each Other").
The three concerts combined drew 94 334 fans and they were filmed to make a DVD and a TV special.
