Season 1
Hannah Montana is an American comedy-drama kids' musical television series created by Michael Poryes, Rich Correll and Barry O'Brien which focuses on a girl who lives a double life as an average teenage school girl named Miley Stewart by day and a famous pop singer named Hannah Montana by night, concealing her real identity from the public, other than her close friends and family.
The series aired in the USA on Disney Channel and ABC from 24 March, 2006 to 16 January, 2011. There are 98 half-hour episodes in four seasons.
Hannah Montana originally aired in South Africa on DStv's Disney Channel. It later aired on SABC3. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.
Season 1 originally aired on Disney Channel, premiering on Friday 29 September 2006, at 17h30. New episodes broadcast in a double bill, weekly.
Season 1 later aired on SABC3 from 3 August, 2008 to 25 January, 2009, on Sundays at 09h00. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are 26 episodes in the first season.
Synopsis
At first glance, Miley Stewart is a typical tween who lives with her widowed dad (a songwriter) and older brother. But unbeknownst to her friends and classmates, Miley is also the world famous pop star Hannah Montana.
With a little creative costuming, Miley has discovered she can have the best of both worlds – the fame and fortune of a famous singer and the fun of middle school with her best friends Lilly and Oliver.
That is until Lilly stumbles across Miley's secret...
