Episode 1
South Africa's summer training has done little to prepare Riaan Manser and Dan Skinstad for the shock of Iceland's winter, and as they take to the water... the reality of the monumental challenge that they have taken on becomes crystal clear.
There is no doubt that Riaan Manser was born for solo adventure, but he is just beginning to understand the real implications of his latest call.
By daring to invite Dan to join this wild expedition despite his physical disability, Riaan has taken on the responsibility for another person's life.
Episode 2
Adventurer Riaan and cerebral palsy sufferer Dan launch their epic journey around Iceland by kayak, but they soon discover the winter weather will dictate their moves.
As they tackle the challenge Riaan begins to fully understand Dan's limitations as he strives to help him overcome them, and Dan realises that fear is his biggest liability.
Episode 3
After bailing out of a failed paddle, Riaan and Dan pick themselves up to give their journey's second stage a triumphant finale.
The weather won't let allow them to bask in their victory for long as their confidence continues to take a pounding, and camping is proving impossible.
On the water, the cracks begin to widen, and the more Dan's fear affects his balance, the more frustrated Riaan becomes.
Episode 4
Riaan and Dan enter Stage 3 of their amazing adventure in good spirits, only to suffer a near-disaster out at sea, and one that threatens Dan's life.
The ocean shows them no mercy as the paddlers struggle onwards and with Riaan bearing the burden of Dan's life in his hands, the pressure mounts to boiling point with a few unexpected explosions along the way.
Episode 5
The team has been grounded in Hvalnes for 10 long days due to gale force winds and volcanic activity, and the long wait has provoked stormy argument amongst the whole crew.
Expedition Manager, Bradley, and Expedition Guide, Thor Gissurarson, leave as a result. When the paddlers finally get back onto the water, the expedition is tested from all sides.
On the ground, Tracey is struggling to cope with the responsibility of her new role as Expedition Manager, and on the water, Riaan's frustration with Dan is reaching breaking point.
Episode 6
Executive producer Peter Gird and Riaan's girlfriend Vasti help the Around Iceland on Inspiration team forge ahead in improved spirits. But the waterlogged coastal area of Iceland in the thaw keeps the expedition stuck in the mud.
As Riaan expends his energy on the mission at hand, his kayak partner Dan, feels neglected and their friendship is tested as they bear their souls out to sea.
Episode 7
The visit from Peter and Vasti gave a boost to the team's spirit, and the duo decides to cover as many kilometres as possible before the upcoming ten-day break.
Because this means paddling twice a day (if needs be) and paddling even if the conditions aren't suitable, it will ultimately lead to great trauma on the water, culminating in a scary, touch-and-go landing at Vik.
Episode 8
The Iceland expedition team resort to tried and tested South African methods to keep spirits high, but after four months in Iceland the cracks are starting to show. The team battle mental and physical breakdown and literally run out of gas.
But despite tough paddles, Riaan and Dan make good distance and Dan feels he's truly defying his cerebral palsy.
Episode 9
The Snaefellsnes Peninusula is one of Iceland's most remarkable territories, the weather is perfect, and a group of hospitable South Africans go to great lengths to make the team feel at home.
Still, the paddlers are using the good luck to make up for lost time and by pushing themselves well past their limits - they force their bodies to pay the price.
Episode 10
As the expedition heads into the Western Fjords of Iceland, the support crew face the most dangerous cliff top roads in the country - in the dark. Communication breaks down and Riaan and Dan miss the landing spot and are forced to double back.
Tensions build again as the team wishes the trip was over and a hole in the kayak threatens to send everyone over the edge.
Episode 11
The paddlers are about to embark on their first real experience of coping with the demands of their adventure alone and unaided as they move towards "The Hand", Iceland's most isolated coastline.
Tensions mount amongst the whole crew in anticipation of the big launch, but just as the paddlers head off into the unknown, the rudder on the kayak is damaged and they are forced to hitch a ferry ride back.
This unexpected break is timed perfectly because the first adventurers ever to circumnavigate Iceland have just arrived to join them for a ceremonial paddle, and an uplifting visit.
Episode 12
Paddlers Riaan and Dan enter the most isolated territory of Iceland in their quest to circumnavigate Iceland by kayak. With the support crew out of reach and after months of ups and downs in their relationship, they face their biggest challenge.
Can they pull it together to conquer "The Hand" of Iceland, and will the support crew handle the stress of not knowing whether they're alive?
Episode 13
Victory is up for grabs for adventurer Riaan and Dan, but they first need to get through their last, long paddles.
As they reflect on their journey as it comes full circle back to Husavik, they relive the drama that was all started with the crazy idea to conquer Iceland by kayak.
As the finish line draws ever closer, will Riaan's mentorship have paid off and will Dan be handed the title of adventurer?
