Mevrou Fourie & Kie is a South African, Afrikaans-language television sitcom which revolves around three generstions of women, as well as other family members, living under one roof - with chaotic consequences.
Anita Fourie has had enough. She is middle-aged and trapped in a dull marriage.
When she decides to divorce her husband, everything unravels – and not only because of the divorce.
After years of tedium and routine, Anita Fourie (Henriëtta Gryffenberg) decides she wants to divorce her husband, the dentist Barend (Deon Coetzee).
Her timing, however, is catastrophic: their daughter, Melissa (Luandri Reynders) leaves her husband, Quintin (Arno Greeff), after discovering he was unfaithful.
Seeking stability, she moves back home – just as Anita herself is trying to get her life back on track.
Then Anita's mother, Tina (Elzabé Zietsman), also unexpectedly turns up, having been evicted from her retirement home.
Suddenly, there are three strong women, a spoilt son in his late twenties, Barry (Luan Jacobs), and a bewildered Barend under one roof in Randburg – causing chaos, conflict and hilarity.
A few secrets also come to light.
The cast includes Ilse van Niekerk as Phyllis Steyn, a businesswoman and Anita's friend; Neels Clasen as handyman Hardus de Ridder; and Liza du Plessis as Barry's girlfriend, Sherrie.
