Description

Ifalakhe is a South African period drama television series created by Stained Glass TV which tells the story of the powerful Okuhle tribe and their war against the Khanya people, who have been raiding their cattle and killing their women and children.

Making the situation even more complex is that Khombindlela, the Okuhle king, finds his tribe on the brink of harsh repercussions from a prophecy that hangs over his head.

This prophecy not only threatens his lineage of the rule of his true heir but also gives him the unnerving task of ensuring it does not come to fruition.

Heavy indeed is the head that wears the crown...

The series investigates the adverse effect of multiple twisted agendas and manipulation of power from the kings themselves, as well as from characters such as the king's wives – who have their own selfish ambitions.

The series is set in pre-colonial Southern Africa and stars Chris Q. Radebe, Bheki Sibiya, Bheki Ngcobo and Sthandwa Nzuza.

Ifalakhe was created by Gugu Zuma-Ncube, Mmamitse Thibedi and Thuli Zuma of Stained Glass TV and is a Mzansi Magic Production produced as an M-Net Original. Gugu Zuma-Ncube and Mmamitse Thibedi are the executive producers.

The series is produced by Tammy Lewis-Houghting with Pepsi Pokane serving as a co-producer. Original music is by Anzo.

The head writer is Thuli Zuma, with a writing team that includes Clive Madiya, Lukhanyo Sikwebu and Ntando Mhlongo. Story development was by Phathushedzo Makwarela, Gwydion Beynon, Bongi Ndaba, Alvern Ball, Aaron Lewis, Thandi Brewer and Onthatile Matshidiso.
