Battlestar Galactica: Razor is an American television film of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica television series developed by Ronald D. Moore which takes place during Commander Lee Adama's first days as commanding officer of Battlestar Pegasus and uses flashbacks to show Admiral Cain's orders during and shortly after the Cylon holocaust.
Razor premiered in the United States on the Sci Fi Channel on 24 November, 2007. It is 88 minutes long.
Battlestar Galactica: Razor premiered in South Africa on DStv's M-Net Action channel on Wednesday 16 April 2008, at 20h00. The first half aired as the first episode of Battlestar Galactica Season 4. The second half aired the following week, as Episode 2.
Synopsis
"All hesitation and doubt must be burned away, until all that remains is the honed edge of a living human weapon."
It's what the Colonial veterans call a "razor."
This sums up what Battlestar Galactica: Razor is all about. On the eve of a Cylon attack, Lt. Kendra Shaw reports for duty on the battlestar Pegasus. Mankind's future is forever changed after the Cylon's genocidal siege of the Twelve Colonies.
Under guidance from her commander, Admiral Helena Cain, Shaw is "reshaped" into a razor using suicidal battle tactics and brutal war crimes against her own people.
The two-hour movie Razor follows the untold story of the battlestar Pegasus, providing clues to the fate of humanity and serving as a backdrop for season four of Battlestar Galactica.
