Rob & Big Black (known in the USA as Rob & Big) is a reality/comedy television series created by Rob Dyrdek and Chris Boykin which follows the lives of professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and his best friend/body guard Christopher "Big Black" Boykin.
The series originally aired in the USA on MTV from 2 November, 2006 to 15 April, 2008. There are 30 episodes in three seasons.
Rob & Big Black premiered in South Africa on DStv's MTVbase channel on Thursday 12 July 2007, at 21h00.
Season 2 premiered on MTVbase on Tuesday 15 April 2008, at 19h00. There are eight half-hour episodes in the season.
Series Synopsis
In this reality buddy comedy, professional street skater Rob Dyrdek and his best friend and bodyguard, Christopher "Big Black" Boykin, share a house in the Hollywood Hills, bouncing from one ridiculous moment to the next.
After hitting it off while filming DC skateboarding videos, Dyrdek and his 300+lb bodyguard/pal Big Black decided to live it up in style in the Hollywood Hills as roommates.
On their first day in the house, Rob arrives at his new home to find Big Black relaxing in the pool sporting only socks and "athletic support".
With swim time officially over, the two head out for some street skating where Big reveals his bulb-worthy idea to add bulldog to their "family".
Along with mischievous Bulldog Meaty, the unlikely trio make the world their playground and hit the streets on a constant quest for adventure and laughs.
Season 2 Synopsis
Rob and Big are back for a second season and decide it’s time for some spring cleaning.
Rob finds a $2,000 jacket with the tag still on and when Meaty pees on the pile of clothes, Rob promises to find him the perfect pint-sized companion.
The threesome hit the road to pick up their new pet and it becomes clear to Big that Rob's ready to bring a miniature horse back to their Hollywood home.
Once in the car, the latest member of the family wastes no time taking a dump on the seat.
