Description

BET A-List is a South African lifestyle and entertainment magazine show in which the hosts unpack everything from fashion to music, movies and more, covering red carpet events and interviewing A-Listers from home and abroad.

The duo also keeps viewers up to date with who's who from across the African continent and the rest of the world.

The honourees of the inaugural BET A-list were revealed by BET A-List hosts Nandi Madida and Ayanda Thabethe on Wednesday 7 September at The Westcliff, Johannesburg, with the ambition to make it an annual event.

Described by the channel as "the definitive list of 2016's South Africa movers and shakers" the series covers achievers from sports to entrepreneurship, music, fashion, film, television, literature and more.

The list was compiled and curated by BET's in house programming and talent team, focusing on achievers who best exemplify contemporary achievement and who are making a huge impact in their personal field of endeavour.

Hosted initially by Nandi Madida and Ayanda Thabethe, the insert presenter was Jesse Suntele. The voice over is provided by Tamarsha Khanyile. Madida was replaced by Amanda du-Pont for three months starting in November 2016 when she went on maternity leave.

Thabethe left mid-season and was replaced by Nomzamo Mbatha and Jessica Nkosi in a revamp of the show, making their first appearance on 25 May, 2017. Suntele was promoted to presenter, making a foursome of anchors. Ayanda Nhlapo and Leroy Marc serve as fashion and style correspondents, whilst K. Naomi took overt as insert presenter.

BET A-List is produced by Weldun Media and Endemol Shine Africa. The executive producers for Weldun Media are Juvais Dunn and Kgosana Monchusi; the executive producer for Endemol Shine Africa is Natalie Bleksley. The series producer is Allen Makhubela.
