Ricki Lake was a daytime talk show with the same name as the show's actress host.It aired in South Africa on e.tv.It features troubled guests discussing their dilemmas in front of a live studio audience who get involved in their lives by commenting and questioning. Considered by many to be similarly as sensationalist as Jerry Springer, the show covers a wide range of topics with a focus on the youth.Experts regularly join Ricki in the studio to give guests advice on the issues they face and recurring inserts such as "Ricki Investigates" and "Ricki Exposed" are an important part of later seasons of the show.Filmed in New York, the show ran for 11 seasons and ended in 2004 after Ricki decided not to extend it into a 12th season.
