Cooking Magic is targeted at children and consists of 26 episodes which are shot on a bright, colourful and dynamic set.
Presenters Sibusiso Mkhize, Phumi Sitole and Dino Zuccollo are animated and chirpy, mixing in humour with their recipes.
Sitole and Zuccollo are chef-like characters, while Zuccollo is also the show's magician. Mkhize portrays a 13 year-old character called Cyber Kid, who is displayed on a screen on the fridge and is part of the 'Matrix'.
Cooking Magic also features a segment in the show that is filmed at schools, where the chefs cook up a storm of recipes with the school kids.
Every episode features a celebrity guest who joins the presenters on set. The guest has to help with the decision of what the hero food of the day will be. This is done by the guest being spun on a huge spinning wheel, and wherever his/her head stops on the wheel becomes the hero food for the day.
The guest also does a live performance of a song, a dance, or a comedy show. The guest is also interviewed by the presenters while they set the table.
Cooking Magic has an SMS competition in which young viewers can win Cooking Magic Recipe Books, as well as stand a chance to win a big colour TV at the end of episodes 13 and 26.
