Synopsis

Beach Girls is a family drama mini-series about a lawyer and his teenage daughter who move to a coastal town after a personal tragedy, and the colourful locals who enrich their lives.

Beach Girls explores the bonds of friendship between three teenage girls, who spent the summer together every year in the beach town of Hubbard's Point.

They pledged their eternal friendship but as the years went by, they grew apart - before the death of one of the girls causes a crisis in the lives of the others.

Rob Lowe plays Boston attorney Jack Kilvert, a recent widower and father of Nell. After Jack's wife Emma dies in a car crash, he and Nell return to the beach town where they have a summer home.

Nell's mother grew up in this beach town and her once-close friend, Stevie Moore, a reclusive artist, still lives there.

Later on Jack's sister, Maddie, also arrives in town, but because she was driving the car in which his wife died, Jack's relationship with her has hit an alltime low.

The ''Beach Girls'' were Emma, Stevie and Maddie, and when Nell reinvents her own life, she meets two girls in town, who become her friends... and they become the next generation of “Beach Girls”.

The series is based on Luanne Rice's best-selling novel about love, loss and life lessons, and is directed by Paul Shapiro.
