Tori & Dean is an American reality television series produced by World of Wonder and starring actress Tori Spelling and her second husband, actor Dean McDermott, which initially foolowed the couple as they moved out of Los Angeles and set up a bed & breakfast, investing Spelling's $800,000 inheritance.
The first two seasons of the show were titled Tori & Dean: Inn Love. The show was renamed Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood as of the third season and changed its focus to following the couple after their failed bed & breakfast experiment. In addition, the episodes were extended from 30 minutes to one hour.
The series premiered in the USA on Oxygen on 20 March, 2007.
Tori & Dean premiered in South Africa on DStv's GO channel (which became Vuzu on 1 July, 2009) on 10 March, 2008. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.
Season 6 premiered on Vuzu on Saturday 9 March 2013, at 22h00. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are nine episodes in the sixth season.
Synopsis
The series began as Tori Spelling and her husband, fellow actor Dean McDermott, traded the glam of 90210 for the unfamiliar surrounds of a Bed and Breakfast in the country and welcomed a new addition to the family, Liam.
Their original idea - to reinvent the B&B in a hip, chic, modern style - was finally realised and with the help of a few friends and staff, they met the challenge of juggling their responsibilities as new parents, innkeepers and working actors.
We followed Tori and Dean as they pursued their dream of running a business and being new parents, as they struggled to balance their lives together, all while caring for a baby, pursuing their acting and realizing that their goal of doing all this while running a Bed and Breakfast might be more difficult than they imagined.
As of Season 3 the show was expended to a full hour and we watched them as they balanced and juggled two growing careers and raised Liam and Stella under the Hollywood microscope.
We witnessed Tori's businesses expanding; releasing a second book, Mommywood, selling her HSN jewelry line and launched Little Maven by Tori Spelling, a clothing line designed for her children.
There were also a multitude of party celebrations, a winter wonderland, a commitment ceremony for the Guncles, and the children's birthday parties.
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott created the series and executive produce the series along with Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato of World of Wonder Productions. Richard Courtney and Robert Sizemore serve as co-executive producers.
