Bait is a 2000 action comedy directed by Antoine Fuqua.

Rearrested after stealing prawns, small-time crook Alvin Sanders lands himself in a cell with John Jaster, half of the gold-thieving duo.

With Jaster's partner, Bristol, still at large, U.S. Treasury agents, led by investigator Edgar Clenteen, secretly implant an experimental tracking device in Alvin and set him free.

At the same time, they circulate a rumour that Jaster told Alvin where gold is, hoping that Bristol will emerge from hiding to silence Alvin.

Now, Alvin must survive the crooks, the Feds and his own bad luck.

Tagline: Alvin Sanders is going to help the Feds catch a killer. He just doesn't know it yet.
