About the Show

Footballers' Wives: Extra Time is a British television drama series created by Maureen Chadwick and Ann McManus which served as a spin-off to Footballers' Wives, fitting in between Season 4 and 5 of the latter show but telling a self-contained story.

The series originally aired in the UK on ITV2 from 26 May, 2005 to 18 May, 2006. There are 25 half-hour episodes in two seasons.

Footballers' Wives: Extra Time premiered in South Africa on SABC3 on Thursday 18 September 2008, at 21h30. There are 12 episodes in the first season.

Synopsis

The eagerly awaited addition to the Footballers' Wives franchise introduces a new roster of sexy players including Tanya Turner's younger sister, Anika Beevor (Georgina Mellor). But there are still familiar faces and cliff-hangers to be resolved from Footballers' Wives 4.

Will Lucy get back together with her controlling husband Bruno? Is Shannon's marriage threatened by Harley and Katie's relationship? Will Seb Webb change his evil ways now that he's moved out of Jackie's house?

Footballers' Wives: Extra Time raises the game with a blistering new set of storylines from behind the scenes of television's most famous soccer club.

After mistakenly shooting Conrad, Bruno will have to come up with an alibi as the police begin a high profile investigation into the death of one of soccer's most famous glamour players.

The superstar's problems only get worse when teenage twins arrive at his door claiming to be his kids. Yasmin (Francesca Kingdon) and Ress (Marc Hendrey) show up after their mother, Joly (Sarah Matravers), decides to tell her children who their father is before she packs her bags and announces she's leaving their miserable housing project for a new life in Spain.

Anika, similar in many ways to her sister Tanya, if a little naive and slightly more vulnerable, endures a turbulent relationship with Oliver Ryan (Travis Oliver), the lazy hedonist son of '70s rock icon turned music mogul, Garry Ryan (Nicholas Ball).

Her vulnerability starts to fade, however, as she sets herself the challenge of going after one-time mega star Garry now the new owner of Sparks.
