About the Show

Galavant is an American fairy tale-themed musical comedy television series created, written and executive produced by Dan Fogelman which follows the adventures of Galavant, a dashing knight hero down on his luck who is determined to reclaim his reputation and his "Happily Ever After" by going after the evil King Richard, who ruined it the moment he stole the love of Galavant's life, Madalena.

He is assisted by Princess Isabella, whose kingdom of Valencia Richard has conquered; and Sid, his squire. Meanwhile, the murderous but weak-willed Richard tries to win over the scheming Madalena.

The episodes chronicle Galavant's journeys (and the twists and turns that go along with them) through musical numbers composed and written by Menken and Slater.

Screenwriter/executive producer Dan Fogelman teams up with Broadway and Hollywood award-winning musical team - composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater - for a musical comedy fairytale of epic proportions.

Once upon a time, the dashing hero, Galavant (Joshua Sasse), lost the love of his life, Madalena (Mallory Jansen), to the evil King Richard (Timothy Omundson).

Now, our fallen hero is ready to take revenge and restore his happily ever after. But it won't be without a few twists and turns along the way.

Just as Galavant hits rock bottom, Princess Isabella shows up with a quest to save her kingdom, defeat the despicable King Richard and provide an opportunity for Galavant to reclaim Madalena.

Galavant is off to become a hero again and strike a blow for true love... but first, he has to fit into his old hero pants.

Galavant stars Joshua Sasse as Galavant, Timothy Omundson as King Richard, Vinnie Jones as Gareth, Mallory Jansen as Madalena, Karen David as Isabella and Luke Youngblood as Sid.

Galavant was written by Dan Fogelman who also serves as executive producer. Executive producers are Alan Menken, Glenn Slater and Chris Koch. Galavant was directed by Chris Koch. Abbey C Studios Ltd. produces Galavant for ABC Studios.
