About the Show

Everybody Loves Raymond is an American television sitcom created by Philip Rosenthal and based on the real-life experiences of Ray Romano, who is represented by the Ray Barone character he plays, where the main characters on the show are loosely based on Romano's family members.

Starring standup comedian Ray Romano in the title role, Everybody Loves Raymond revolves around Ray Barone, a successful sportswriter living on Long Island with his wife Debra, 13-year-old daughter, Ally, and 9-year-old twin sons, Geoffrey and Michael.

That's the good news.

The bad news? Ray's meddling parents, Frank and Marie, live directly across the street and embrace the motto "Su casa es mi casa," managing to infiltrate their son's home to an unparalleled extent.

Frank's favourite expression, "Holy Crap!" is shouted at regular intervals and Marie's cooking and cleaning "advice" is less than appreciated by Debra.

Ray's brother Robert, a police sergeant, has finally moved out of his parents' house and married Debra's best friend, Amy.

Amy's uptight parents and anti-social brother make the family mix even more entertaining - except for Ray and Debra, who just wish someone would knock.

Everybody Loves Raymond was produced by Worldwide Pants Incorporated and HBO Independent Productions with executive producers Philip Rosenthal, Stu Smiley, Rory Rosegarten, Ray Romano, Lew Schneider, Tucker Cawley, Steve Skrovan and Jeremy Stevens.
