About the Show

MasterChef Australia: The Professionals is an Australian cooking reality series based on the British series MasterChef: The Professionals created by Loyd Grossman and Gary Rhodes, in which judges Matt Preston and Marco Pierre White hunt put seasoned, qualified chefs who are barred from standard contest through their paces to prove they are worthy of the title.

Hosted by acclaimed chef Marco Pierre White and esteemed food critic and MasterChef Australia host Matt Preston, MasterChef Australia: The Professionals sees 18 qualified chefs competing in the toughest cooking environment in Australia.

With some fresh elements to the format, the experience and competition will be intensified but viewers will also see some of their favourite challenges and guests chefs. Expect high drama, big flavours and sizzling entertainment.

It's a recipe like no other. Take the greatest elements of MasterChef Australia that you know and love, add culinary legend Marco Pierre White, an international host, a brand new, state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, a 120-seat restaurant, and lay it all out on the table for 18 chefs at the top of their game from all over the country.

MasterChef: The Professionals Australia will see these qualified chefs competing in the nation's toughest cooking environment.

The contestants will be guided by multi-Michelin star chef Marco Pierre White, who has trained some of the world's most successful chefs – including Gordon Ramsay and Australia's own Shannon Bennett and Curtis Stone. This formidable talent will challenge, inspire and mentor the 18 professionals throughout the series.

By his side, ensuring that no element of the dish goes unnoticed, will be MasterChef Australia's perennial favourite, esteemed food critic Matt Preston. Be prepared to meet some of the country's most innovative and exciting chefs, competing to win a career-defining, money can't buy experience.

Filmed in Melbourne and produced by Shine Australia, MasterChef: The Professionals is set in a brand new, purpose-built commercial kitchen.
