About the Show

DCI Banks is a British crime drama television series adapted by Peter Robinson from his Inspector Alan Banks novels and produced by Left Bank Pictures which follows the tenacious and stubborn Chief Inspector Alan Banks and the feisty and headstrong Detective Sergeant Annie Cabbot in three thrilling crime stories each season.

Following the ratings success of Peter Robinson's first novel Aftermath, Stephen Tompkinson is returning as DCI Banks in the television adaptation of a further three Inspector Banks novels: Playing with Fire, Friend of the Devil and Cold is the Grave.

Based on the bestselling novels by Peter Robinson the series features carefully worked stories jam-packed with twists and turns and intriguing and memorable characters.

The series stars Stephen Tompkinson as the tenacious and stubborn Chief Inspector Alan Banks. Actress Andrea Lowe is the feisty and headstrong Detective Sergeant Annie Cabbot.

Together they investigate compelling contemporary crimes set in the fictional town of Eastvale in the Yorkshire countryside - a striking and contrasting backdrop to chilling and thrilling murder stories.

DCI Banks is produced by Left Bank Pictures.
