It's for Life is a reality series that aims to develop three chosen candidates' life skills so that they can realise their social, personal and professional potential in the diverse, challenging context of South Africa.
It's also been described as a makeover show, but unlike any other show of its kind, it focuses on making over the mind. Ordinary people are transformed into proactive individuals.
As an adult-education programme each episode is centred on a particular life skill as defined by the SABC Education department.
The participants are required to go through various activities or experiences that will experientially teach them more about the life skill in question.
Previously the series was set in Parys, The Cradle of Human Kind, Melville, and on the road from Johannesburg to Cape Town.
This time the series will be set in Soweto as a tribute to the legends that have come out of the historic township.
The three participants all have a dream but at the moment they are unable to attain that dream for various reasons. It's For Life aims to equip these three with the necessary life skills to achieve their goals.
