About the Show

Daddy's Girls is an American reality television series created by Jason A. Carbone and Joseph Simmons as a spin-off of Run's House which follows Vanessa and Angela Simmons (oldest daughters of Joseph Simmons a.k.a. Rev Run), along with friends and family, as they start their own business in Los Angeles after moving there.

The series aired in the USA on MTV from 5 January to 22 September, 2009. There are 15 half-hour episodes in two seasons.

Daddy's Girls premiered in South Africa on SABC1 on Wednesday 26 October 2011, at 19h00. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 2 premiered on SABC1 on Wednesday 18 January 2012, at 19h00. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are eight episodes in the second and final season.

Season 1

Best known as Rev. Run's daughters and big sisters to JoJo, Diggy, Russy and baby Miley, Vanessa and Angela Simmons have literally grown up on MTV.

Across five seasons of Run's House, we watched these young women begin to make their own place in the world, but always under the watchful eye and with the guiding hand of their father. After all, they are Daddy's Girls.

But now it's time for them to stretch their wings and take on life on their own terms.

Daddy's Girls follows Vanessa and Angela as they officially leave the comforts of the family home in New Jersey to run their own business and live full-time in Los Angeles.

Will they be able to keep in mind the invaluable moral lessons their father has instilled in them as they navigate the fast lane?

Vanessa and Angela won't be alone as they establish a home together in Los Angeles and set up West Coast operations for their Pastry shoe line.

Daddy's Girls also features their cousin Jessica and their friend Alycia. A trusted friend, Jessica is a responsible individual whose role will be to keep Vanessa and Angela grounded in spite of their hip-hop royalty lifestyle. Alycia, meanwhile, is an eccentric and beautiful aspiring singer who lives on a meager budget, yet is always striving to keep up with the Simmons sisters.

Of course, Vanessa and Angela are no strangers to Los Angeles. As Run's House fans know, Vanessa has lived a bicoastal lifestyle, traveling back and forth between Los Angeles and New York City while pursing a acting career, in addition to her involvement in the Pastry shoe business.

And Angela has been working hard as an aspiring fashion designer and editor (at Hype Hair magazine and of "Angela's Rundown," a monthly insert in Word Up magazine) who has frequently found herself in L.A., too, even though she has tried hard to establish an identity separate from that of her big sister.

In Los Angeles, they'll strive to make Pastry a success that's worthy of the Simmons family name. At the same time, they'll grow their friendships with Jessica and Aliceia while dating and following their dreams and desires, and making life decisions on their own.

And as the title Daddy's Girls suggests, just because they're on the opposite coast doesn't mean they will be out of touch with Run's House. Vanessa and Angela will stay in touch with Rev. Run, updating Daddy at the end of each episode... if he can wait that long!

Of course, the girls quickly learn that their dad doesn't need to know everything that goes on in their lives.

But one thing is sure, that even though Vanessa and Angela are growing up and moving out into the world on their own, they'll always be Daddy's Girls.

Season 2

Best known as the daughters of Run-DMC's Rev. Run, Vanessa and Angela Simmons have literally grown up on MTV. Across six seasons of Run's House and in the first season of Daddy's Girls, we've watched them begin to make their own place in the world, but always under the watchful eye of their father.

After all, they are Daddy's Girls.

In the second season of Daddy's Girls, Angela and Vanessa have moved beyond getting their feet wet in Los Angeles and have a newfound confidence. These girls are determined to leave their dynamic stamp on L.A. with their old school values and their new school swagger.

Last season, Daddy's Girls followed Vanessa and Angela as they officially left the comforts of the family home in New Jersey to run their own business and live full-time in Los Angeles.

In this season, Vanessa and Angela's lives are blowing up in awesome new directions. The accomplished entrepreneurs of their shoe and apparel company, Pastry, find themselves taking their business to new levels.

As they move up the professional ladder, Angela and Vanessa are also kicking their living quarters up a notch, as they move into swanky new digs in the Hollywood Hills.

After sleeping on the girls' couch for months, their funky cousin Jessica finally gets her own room, but has to share it with Danielle - Angela's childhood friend who moved out from New York.

With Danielle's sassy, outspoken demeanor, don't be surprised to find some tension growing in the new household.

Meanwhile, Vanessa and Angela are continue to strive to make Pastry a success that's worthy of the Simmons family name. But they still manage to have fun and meet new friends along the way.

Rounding out the Daddy's Girls ensemble are good friends Lynn and Brian. Lynn is a beautiful, bubbly model and aspiring actress who is more than just a little boy-crazy. Brian is a smooth, charming, music A&R rep - a dead ringer for Johnny Depp, who's well-connected in the L.A. scene.

From dating problems to friendship squabbles, Brian and Lynn never experience a dull moment when hanging with the Simmons sisters.

The second season of the show finds Angela and Vanessa facing all sorts of challenges and adventures, both personal and professional. Whenever the girls find themselves in over their heads, they know that they have a great support system to lean on.

In addition to their friends, their famous dad, Rev. Run, is always just a phone call away. But even as Angela and Vanessa grow, they'll always be Daddy's Girls.
