Jayma Mays is an American actress best known for her starring role as McKinley High School guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury on the musical comedy-drama television series Glee.

She was previously known for playing characters called Charlie on two different television shows in the 2006-2007 season: a waitress who befriends Hiro in Texas on Heroes and the girlfriend of Betty's crush, Henry, on Ugly Betty.

In 2004, Mays made her first television appearance on Joey, and the following year landed a role in Wes Craven's Red Eye.

She has guest-starred on numerous series, including House, Six Feet Under, The Comeback, Entourage, Stacked, How I Met Your Mother and Ghost Whisperer.

She also has a starring role on the sitcom The Millers.

Her feature film credits include Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Clint Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers, Blind Guy Driving, Bar Starz and Epic Movie, where she met her husband, Adam Campbell. She also lent her voice talents to The Smurfs movie.

Mays is from Grundy, Virginia, and graduated from Radford University with a degree in Performing Arts. She lives in Los Angeles.
