Meme Ditshego was a South African actress best known for her starring role as Josephine Ratau in the SABC2 sitcom Ga Re Dumele, where she starred from 2010 to 2019, in all six seasons.
Meme won the SAFTA for Best Actress in a TV Comedy for this role in 2012.
She was also known for her starring role as Joyce Mlambo on the M-Net sitcom The Coconuts, from 2008 to 2009.
In 2003 she played Ma Thandi on the second season of SABC1 edutainment series Soul Buddyz, and in 2007 she appeared on the SABC2 comedy series Kompleks and in the Canadian/South African hospital drama Jozi-H.
In 2013 she had a starring role as Dotty Sithole, the Hauser's Security "Secret Weapon" who is employed as the "domestic" for the security company, in the SABC3 sitcom Safe as Hauser's.
In 2024 she received a SAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Comedy for her starring role as razor-sharp counsellor Nomusa in the SABC2 comedy-drama Onse Kasi, which aired in 2023.
Meme's other TV roles include recurring/guest roles on the 1Magic drama series Unmarried and Entangled, SABC2's Geraamtes in die Kas, Muvhango, Erfsondes, 7de Laan and Giyani - Land of Blood, SABC1's Skeem Saam, and Mzansi Magic's Imposter, Cobrizi and Zabalaza.
She was married to her TV husband in The Coconuts, Samson Khumalo (who plays Percy Mlambo).
Meme died on Wednesday 25 June 2025 after a short illness. The cause of her death was undisclosed.
