Marguerite Wheatley is a South African actress best known for her role as Doreen Smith, the cousin of Joe, in the M-Net soapie Egoli, from 2005-2007.

Marguerite grew up in Yzerfontein and matriculated in Paarl. After school she went overseas and worked at a ski resort in Austria. She toured through Europe and decided to return to South Africa to study drama at City Varsity in Cape Town.

She is also a qualified aerobics instructor.

She appeared in the SABC1 soapie Generations in 2007, and played the role of Nellie van Wyk in the M-Net mini-series Feast of the Uninvited, in 2008.

She played the role of Veronica in the SABC2 mini-series Huis van Liefde, in March 2008.

Wheatley was romantically linked to two South African rugby players: Ernst Joubert and Jacques Claassens. Her brother is Doug Wheatley, who plays rugby (prop) for London Irish in the UK.

She won People magazine's 2006 Crystal Award as the best female newcomer to stage or screen.
