Chris van Rensburg is a South African actor, singer, dancer, writer and voice artist best known for his role as Spietkop in the SABC2 mini-series Huis van Liefde, in March 2008.

Born and raised in Johannesburg, Chris is the son of Jan and Janie Janse van Rensburg and has two brothers, Albie and Andre. He attended Laërskool Fairland and matriculated from Hoërskool Linden in 2001.

He studied Drama at the University of Pretoria, where he received an award for Best Creative contribution to the department in 2005. As an actor, he has a strong theatrical background that stems from his Eisteddfod days at Primary and High School.

He has appeared in a variety of theatrical and film productions. His theatre credits include Netarico, Die Afrikaner 300, I Fell in Love with a Broken Heart and various children's and Industrial theatre productions including Khululeka for the Nelson Mandela 46664 campaign.

He was also was seen in The Rocky Horror Show at the New Victory Theatre where he played one of the Phantoms and eventually took over the part of Riff Raff.

He also wrote and featured in the play Sade(ism) where he explored the different acts of sadistic nature commonly found in human history.

He featured in the SABC 2 mini-series Huis van Liefde in March 2008 and was seen in the movie Hansie in September 2008, in which he played the ex-captain of the English cricket-team, Nasser Hussain, alongside Francois Rautenbach.

He has featured in a variety of TV commercials for clients such as Scooter's Pizza, Pyott's Biscuits, Garmin GPS and MTN.

As a voice artist he has a baritone voice and can imitate a wide range of accents including German, various British, Mexican, French, Russian, Italian, American and many more.

He currently resides in Johannesburg.
