Jonathan Hyde is an Australian-born British actor best known for his roles as J. Bruce Ismay, the managing director of the White Star Line, in the 1997 movie blockbuster Titanic; the Egyptologist in The Mummy (1999); and Sam Parrish/Van Pelt the hunter in Jumanji (1995). He also has a starring role as Eldritch Palmer, an elderly billionaire invalid driven to obtain immortality, in the FX horror series The Strain.
