Bio

Sherri Saum is an American actress best known for her starring role as Vanessa Hart on the daytime soap opera Sunset Beach, from 1997-1999.

She also had a starring role as Lena Adams, Stef's lesbian partner and the "other mother" of their three children, two of whom have been adopted from the foster system, in the teen drama television series The Fosters.

Sherri got her start at a Model Search America convention near her home in Kettering, Ohio. She was discovered during high school, modeling mostly during summer breaks until she decided to move to New York and work full time with the New York modeling agency Images Management.

Involved in the drama club in high school, Sherri was able to recognise her true passion for acting. Her career quickly diverted from modeling to auditioning for roles in film and television.

Her first major role in a TV series was in the soap opera Sunset Beach, from 1997-1999.

She appeared in a variety of shows including Showtime's Beggars and Choosers (1999-2000), Girlfriends for an episode in 2000, Charmed in 2001 and later starred in another soap opera One Life to Live, from 2001 to 2003, as Keri Reynolds.

In 2006, Saum joined the cast of the Emmy nominated series Rescue Me starring Denis Leary for two seasons, followed by a starring role on the Golden Globe nominated HBO series In Treatment.

Film roles include Ten Stories Tall opposite Josh Hamilton and Ally Sheedy and Relative Stranger starring Eriq La Salle and Cicely Tyson.

Saum has been married to actor Kamar de los Reyes since 19 May, 2007. She splits her time between New York City and Los Angeles with her husband and enjoys traveling and volunteering with Kusewera, an organisation that teaches children in Malawi through active and creative play.
