John Scurti is an American actor best known for his starring role as NYFD Lt. Kenny “Lou” Shea, whose difficult adjustment to single life after the break-up of his marriage of many years has him teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, in the television drama series Rescue Me, from 2004-2011.

A veteran of film and television, John Scurti has a long history of working with Rescue Me’s Denis Leary, with whom he appeared in the feature films The Ref and Who’s the Man?

In addition to roles in both Beautiful Girls and Crooked Lines, he played opposite Julia Roberts in Mona Lisa Smile and also appeared in Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds.

On television, Scurti’s guest appearances include Monk, Hope & Faith, Ed, Law & Order, Sex and the City, Murphy Brown, Baywatch Nights, Spin City, and The $treet.

In addition to his regular cast member duties on Rescue Me, he wrote the story for an episode from the show’s inaugural season entitled DNA.
