Spotted in college and signed up as a model, Andiswa’s catwalk career got off to a fast start when she was chosen to model at the Afridesia show at New York Fashion Week just 3 short months after first heading down the ramp!
The same year, she entered The Ford Supermodel of the World Search and qualified to participate at the gala event in the Dominican Republic. Competing with models from 52 countries, Andiswa made it into the Top 20.
Her success won her international attention and Andiswa was soon invited by Ford Models in New York to participate in New York Fashion Week once more. During her six months in the Big Apple, she worked hard, most notably on a campaign for cosmetics giant Avon. When she returned to South Africa, Andiswa was quickly snapped up featuring in magazines such as Elle, Cosmopolitan, True Love and Fairlady.
In addition, she quickly became a well know ramp model in her home country and last year she assisted with the catwalk training of the Nokia Face of Africa 2005 finalists.
