Valente Rodriguez is an American actor best known for his role as Ernesto "Ernie" Cardenas on the television sitcom George Lopez, from 2002-2007.
He also starred as Cesar, an employee at Fran Drescher's flower shop, in the sitcom Happily Divorced, from 2011-2013.
Rodriguez was born on Valentines Day, 1961 in Edcouch, Texas, the youngest of eight children. He was the first member of his family to graduate from high school and go to college. He attended the University of Texas-Pan American and received their distinguished Alumni Award in 2006.
Rodriguez moved to L.A. in 1988. He played his first leading role in the film Salsa. His other film credits include Erin Brokovich, The Ugly Truth and the critically acclaimed Mi Familia (My Family).
He also made appearances in The House Bunny and (500) Days of Summer.
Rodriguez has appeared on several popular TV shows, including The Golden Girls, Growing Pains, Falcon Crest, Beverly Hills 90210, Mad About You, Dharma and Greg and The X-Files.
