Bio

Innocent Masuku is a South African actor best known for his role as Baksteen on the SABC1 drama series Tshisa, from 2006-2012.

Together with his co-actor Bongani Masondo, Innocent  also performs the title track for the series and has plans to release a kwaito album under the artist name Ngudu (“The Big Man”).

Growing up, he was given this nickname because “I was cleverer than my peeps, I was the one with the ideas… I was also very naughty…”

Masuku ended up hanging on the streets, getting up to no good. It was The Positive Art Society that offered him a way out and soon he was part of a boys group that took to the stage.

Innocent played Bobo in Yizo Yizo 1, 2 and 3 and went on to play Maradona in Zone 14, since 2005.

In March 2008 he guest starred in an episode of the SABC1 drama series Mtunzini.com in the role of Vusi, a taxi driver who is found murdered, in the episode entitled "The Taxi Driver (Part 1)" - Season 2, Episode 10.
