Malin Akerman is a Swedish-born Canadian actress, model and singer best known for her starring role as Juna Millken in the television comedy The Comeback, in 2005.

She also has a starring role as Kate Harrison, a reformed party girl who becomes the third wife of a slightly older man and finds herself with an instafamily complete with three stepchildren and two ex-wives, in the television sitcom Trophy Wife.

In 2012 she graced the big screen in Wanderlust, with Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston, sang alongside Tom Cruise in the musical adaptation of the Broadway hit Rock of Ages, and starred in Sebastian Gutierrez's nod to classic film noir, Hotel Noir, with Rosario Dawson, Danny Devito and Carla Gugino.

At the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival Akerman shared the big screen with Ryan Philippe and Taylor Kitsch in Steven Silver's The Bang Bang Club.

She was seen in theatres nationwide in the 2010 Sundance Audience-Award winner, Happythankyoumoreplease, opposite Kate Mara, Zoe Kazan and Josh Radnor.

In addition she appeared in Sebastian Gutierrez's Elektra Luxx, which premiered at the 2010 SXSW Festival, and joined Katie Holmes, Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Adam Brody and Elijah Wood in The Romantics, which also premiered at Sundance.

In 2009 Akerman was seen in the comedy Couples Retreat, opposite of Vince Vaughn, Kristen Bell, Jason Bateman and Jon Favreau, and co-starred in the blockbuster Watchmen, earning a Teen Choice Award nomination.

She was in the 2008 romantic comedy 27 Dresses, directed by Anne Fletcher, and reunited with Fletcher to join Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in The Proposal. In 2007 she starred alongside Ben Stiller in The Heartbreak Kid, directed by the Farrelly brothers.

Other projects in which Akerman is involved include the dark comedy Country Cottage, opposite Tyler Labine; Randall Miller's CBGB, as iconic rocker Debbie Harry; and The Numbers Station, alongside John Cusack.

Akerman is also no stranger to the small screen. Her breakthrough came in 2005 on the HBO series The Comeback, with Lisa Kudrow.

She had a memorable recurring role on the third season of Entourage as well ABC's hit comedy, Suburgatory, was seen in a special episode of How I Met Your Mother, and stars in the third season of Adult Swim's Emmy Award-winning medical-drama parody, Children's Hospital.

Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Akerman moved to Toronto, Canada at the age of two. By age five she had begun to model and act in television commercials, and at 17 won the "Ford Supermodel of Canada" search.

After attending college as a psychology major, she relocated to California to focus on acting. It was there she met her drummer husband, Roberto, while she was lead singer of the alternative rock band The Petalstones.

In her spare time Akerman enjoys volunteering for organisations such as the Environmental Media Association and Opportunity International.
