Kate Mulgrew is an American actress best known for her starring role as Galina "Red" Reznikova, a Russian inmate who runs the prison's kitchen as the master chef and is the behind-the-scenes leader of the prison's white population, in the Netflix comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black.
She was previously known for her television roles as Captain Kathryn Janeway on Star Trek: Voyager, and as Mary Ryan on Ryan's Hope.
