Dan Futterman is an American actor and screenwriter best known for his roles as Val Goldman in the film The Birdcage (1996) and Vincent Gray on the television series Judging Amy, from 1999-2005.
He also played the recurring role of Danny in the sitcom Related, from 2005-2006.
He has made guest appearances on Another World, New York News, Caroline in the City, Homicide: Life on the Street, Sex and the City, Will & Grace and the unaired pilot of Brothers & Sisters.
In 2005, he wrote the screenplay for the film Capote for which he received an Academy Award nomination and an Independent Spirit Award, Boston Society of Film Critics award, and Los Angeles Film Critics Association award.
He has been married to Homicide: Life on the Street writer/producer Anya Epstein since 23 September 2000. The couple have two children.
