Ebi Halberstadt is a Namibian actor best known for his role as gay bartender Braam Schoeman on the M-Net soapie Egoli, from 1998-2007.Ebi was born in Grootfontein, Namibia. He has a brother one year older than him, and his sister is four years younger.He grew up on a farm and he was in a German school until Standard 4. From Standard 5 to Matric he attended an Afrikaans school. After he finished school he did a four-year Apprenticeship at TCL (Tshumeb Corporation Limited) and for two years after that worked as an Electrical tradesman.Ebi resigned from TCL in September 1996 so that he could begin drama classes with Milla Louw in 1997. At the end of 1998 he did an audition for Egoli and the character Braam was born.During the interim period he kept himself busy doing freelance drama and electrical work.
