Ian Abercrombie (11 September, 1934 - 26 January, 2012) was an English actor best known for his role as Elaine Benes' boss, Mr. Pitt, during the sixth season of the sitcom Seinfeld.

He also played the role of Alfred Pennyworth in Birds of Prey, and was a fastidious butler on Desperate Housewives.

Abercrombie died in Hollywood, California on 26 January 2012, aged 77, from a fatal heart attack. He was survived by his wife, Gladys.
