Portia Joel is a South African actress and television presenter best known for her role as Randy in the SABC1 soapie Generations.

She is also known for hosting the SABC3 magazine show Curious Culture.

Portia grew up in Cape Town and matriculated at Malibu High School in 1998. After matriculating she went on to study at Stellenbosch University, but dropped out after six months since she was more interested in acting for film and television.

After working for Generations for two years she started auditioning again and got a cameo role in Zero Tolerance in 2005. A year later Portia presented Curious Culture for six months and worked on various corporate projects and advertisements.

Portia also worked on the Afrikaans comedy Kompleks, which aired on SABC2.

She landed the female lead of Trina Hendriks on the SABC2 mini-series Riemvasmaak in 2007, which aired on the channel from February to March, 2008.

In 2015 she landed a starring role in the kykNET soap opera Suidooster, set in Cape Town in the fictional suburb of Ruiterbosch.

Portia is the daughter of actor Cedwyn Joel.
