Bio
Multi-talented Mapumba was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is a vocalist, a guitarist, a percussionist, an actor, a model as well as a funk dancer.
A motivated person, he taught himself how to play the guitar, jembe, bongos, marimbas, piano, harmonica and the keyboard.
His acting career includes a lead in the theatre production Nomade, a part in the productions Oh What a Night Boy Band (On Broadway - Cape Town) and Blame it on the Boogie. He also sang lead and was narrator in the popular show Now Juke is King. He has also appeared in a number of international commercials.
Aside from extensive once-off events and live music venue performances, Mapumba is very proud to have worked with local music star KB on her Beautiful Vibration album. The highlight of his career however, was when he met Yussou 'N Dour on a recent trip to Senegal with Studio 53.
