Bio
Hope Mbhele is a South African actress, presenter and singer best known for her starring role as MaBusi in the Mzansi Magic drama series Umkhoka and its spin-off prequel soapie Umkhoka: The Curse.
Born and raised in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal, she made her first television appearance as a fan girl in the second season of the SABC1 soapie Uzalo, in November 2016 (credited as Nosipho Mbhele).
Eight years later she would return to the show to play the recurring role of Amahle Sishi, making her first appearance in Season 8, Episode 9, which aired on 17 March, 2022.
Hope landed her first starring role, MaBusi, in the 13-episode drama series Umkhoka on Mzansi Magic, which aired from October to December, 2021.
She would reprise her role in two seasons of the spin-off prequel soapie Umkhoka: The Curse, which aired on Mzansi Magic from 6 March, 2023 to 28 February, 2025, spanning 520 episodes.
She also hosted the SABC1 Friday evening music show IssaVibe, which premiered on 10 December, 2021.
In 2022 she starred in two Showmax made-for-TV movies, playing the role of Gugu in Goodbye Gogo and the role of Amahle in No Love Lost.
The following year she was cast in the starring role of Baleka, a healer for the Mthethwa King Jobe and later King Makhasana of the Mabhudu, in the Mzansi Magic historical drama series Shaka iLembe, which premiered on 18 June, 2023.
In 2025 she landed her first presenting gig on the Mzansi Magic reality talent search competition Supersport MVP Talent Search, dedicated to unearthing the next generation of broadcasting and commentary talent.
Hope also starred in the third season of the Netflix thriller series Fatal Seduction, which released internationally on 13 March, 2026.
In the same year she landed another starring role, this time as Ndumi Nhlapho, a compassionate and resilient woman dedicated to creating a better future for her gifted younger brother, in the e.tv telenovela The Four of Us.
The show premiered on 29 June, 2026.
