Mienke Ehlers is a South African actress best known for her starring role as Dalena van Vuuren in the kykNET drama series Dinge van 'n Kind.
Mienke made her small screen debut in the made-for-TV movie Magda Louw, which aired on kykNET on 4 July, 2021, and went on to play Lydia in two seasons of the series.
Born and raised in Paarl, she matriculated from Paarl Girls High School in 2014.
She went on to study Dramatic Arts at the University of Stellenbosch from 2015-2017, followed by honours in Live Performance and Motion Picture from AFDA in 2018.
She also worked as a props assistant for the kykNET soapie Suidooster.
She had a cameo role as an hysterical mother in an episode of the kykNET comedy series Lui Maar Op, Belinda (Give it a Rest, Belinda) which aired on 9 August, 2021 (Season 2, Episode 6).
The following year she landed her first starring role in television when she was cast as rebellious best friend Dalena in the kykNET drama series Dinge van 'n Kind (Things of a Child).
In the show her character is Mart's (Melissa Myburgh) best friend.
She is rebellious, adventurous and impulsive and constantly making plans - the conservative community sees her as wild and unchaste.
Dalena says what she wants, she smokes and drinks and enjoys the attention of boys. However, she lives in a time where women are seen as submissive and it goes against all that she is.
Beneath all her bravado, however, lurks a very dark facet of her personality that she does not reveal to everyone.
Dinge van 'n Kind premiered on kykNET on Tuesday 10 May, 2022.
In 2025 she plays the role of impulsive and unpredictable Frankie, an outspoken, gutsy waitress who works at Oos Wes, debuting on 11 March.
