Bio
Mandisa Vilakazi is a South African actress best known for her role as Liyana on the SABC1 soap opera Uzalo.
Hailing from Pietermaritzburg on KwaZulu-Natal, she graduated with a National Diploma in Drama and Production from the Durban University of Technology in 2020.
Mandisa first appeared on television on Uzalo in the role of Liyana, a young woman who threatens to break up Sbu and Fikile, making her first appearance in an episode which aired on 31 August, 2020 (Season 6, Episode 129).
She recurred in the role for that season and returned for the next season in 2021.
A month after her Uzalo debut Mandisa landed her first starring role, in the Moja Love drama series Erased, which debuted on the channel on 6 September, 2020.
In the series she plays Tiny, a girl who is raped by a family friend of her adopted family.
She next landed the recurring role of Sonto on the e.tv soap opera Durban Gen, first appearing in Season 1, Episode 52, which aired on 15 December, 2020.
Mandisa landed her second starring role when she was cast as Nandi Buthelezi in the SABC1 miniseries Hush Money, which revolves around the cover-up of the death of a young medical student after she is killed by a drunken driver with powerful friends.
The series premiered on 19 September, 2021.
