Carmen Maarman is a South African actress best known to television audiences for her starring role as Maggie in the kykNET sitcom Lui Maar Op, Belinda.

It was her first starring role in television.

Carmen is also well known in theatre circles for her role as Sureya Samsodien in the comedy musical Aunty Merle, The Musical.

She has an extensive theatre resumé which includes roles in District Six, The Kramer Petersen Songbook, The Ugly Duckling, Ghoema and Pinocchio.

She first appeared on television in 2000 when she had a cameo on the e.tv youth soapie Backstage. She later had guest starring roles on Interrogation Room and Deeltitel Dames.

Carmen was also one of the voice artists used in the dubbing of the Turkish telenovela Gebroke Harte into Afrikaans.

In 2019 she joined the cast of the kykNET soapie Getroud Met Rugby in the recurring role of Zelda, the wife of Buys (Roderick Jaftha). She made her first appearance in Season 4, Episode 86 (which aired on 18 November, 2019).

In 2020 she joins the kykNET & Kie soapie Arendsvlei for its third season, as Natalie.
