Bio
Rocco de Villiers is a South African pianist, entertainer, producer, composer and author.
He has released numerous instrumental CDs, two cocktail books, a live DVD and writes and produces his own instrumental stage productions.
Some of his solo albums include Beautiful Beautiful Hymns, CountryKeys, Beautiful Beautiful Piano, More Beautiful Piano and Stunning. In 2014 Rocco also released sheet music of his own compositions titled Rocco De Villiers Bladmusiek vir Klavier Volume 1.
Rocco has won several awards including a Huisgenoot Tempo, Ghoema Award, Vonk Award, a SAMA and a Cape Theatre Award.
He is also co–director of Third Ear Sound, which takes commissions for television, film and museum sound concept design.
Rocco wrote the score to the American film Brewsie & Willie, composed the theme music for nine television series and has produced television series and documentaries for M-Net on the history of South African music.
He was also presenter of two series on kykNET: Kook en Klavier en Rocco and Klop Die Klawers.
In 2017 he was the co-host and resident pianist for the SABC2 game show Beter assie Bure (Better than the Neighbours).
