Bio
Trai Byers is an American actor best known for his starring role as Andre Lyon, the eldest son of the Lyon family and CFO of Empire Entertainment, in the musical drama television series Empire.
Classically trained, Byers also appeared in the feature Selma, produced by Oprah Winfrey and starring David Oyelowo, Tom Wilkinson, Giovanni Ribisi, Cuba Gooding Jr., Tim Roth and Common.
He earned his first feature roles in acclaimed independent films Americons and Jayhawkers.
He received an M.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama in 2011, and received a B.S. in theatre at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
From Kansas City, Kansas, Byers currently lives in Los Angeles.
