Wyclef Jean is a Haitian-American hip hop recording artist, musician, actor and politician who first received fame as a member of the acclaimed New Jersey hip hop group the Fugees, going on to win three Grammy Awards for his musical work.
On television, he has had recurring roles in such series as Third Watch and Nashville. He was the host of the second MTV Africa Music Awards which were held on 10 October, 2009 at the gymnasium of the Moi International Sports Centre complex in Nairobi, Kenya. The awards to broadcast across Africa via the MTV Base and MTV network of channels.
