Bio
Balungile Gumede is a South African actress and singer best known to television viewers for her starring role as Beauty in the Mzansi Magic drama miniseries Single Mothers, in 2013.
She was also one of the Top 74 finalists to get through to the Theatre Round of the fifth season of the M-Net reality competition series Idols, in 2009.
Also in 2009, she made her television acting debut as Kate in an episode of the e.tv drama anthology series eKasi: Our Stories, in the episode entitled "A Good Wife" (Season 1, Episode 4), which aired on 26 October, 2009.
In 2013 she landed a role in the long-running musical The Lion King, for a 14-month tour of Germany.
Originally from Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, she currently resides in Johannesburg.
